MenScience FAQ

How do you deal with aging acne-prone skin?

When dealing with adult acne it can be hard to find the right products that will address fine lines and wrinkles without exasperating acne. We would suggest you try using products that are designed to clean and moisturize your skin without clogging your pores. While there is no product out there that will reverse the signs of aging, you can work on improving your skin for a healthier appearance and protecting against further damage caused by aging.

MenScience offers many products that are noncomedogenic (won’t clog your pores). You may wish to start with a face wash with glycolic and salicylic acid that will help clean your skin and remove oil buildup and grime like the Daily Face Wash. It would be beneficial to use a noncomedogenic moisturizer like the Anti-Aging Formula which combines the most powerful anti-aging ingredients available to dermatologists (Retinol, GABA, Peptides and Alpha Lipoic Acid). The Anti-Aging Formula helps prevent damage caused by the body’s oxidation process and support production of collagen and elastin (two key supporters of the skin), which in turn helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Allow this moisturizer to absorb before applying the TiO2 Sunblock SPF 30 because the sun ages skin faster than any other single factor and a sunblock should be worn anytime you consider stepping outside during daylight hours.

Exfoliation with the Microfine Face Scrub may be beneficial in also refreshing your skin. If your acne is mild you should try exfoliating once or twice a week. If you have moderate to severe acne than this would not be recommended as exfoliation can irritate blemished skin.  MenScience also offers the Acne Therapy Lotion and Acne Spot Repair which, depending on your acne, may also be used to address it. Applications of these would be after the Anti-Aging Formula and under the Sunblock. There are also other items available that you may want to review depending on your needs.
