10 Ways to Stop Overeating

Overeating can be a problem when everything around us seems to be packaged bigger and sold in bigger portions. Fortunately, there are many ways to stop overeating before it happens. Below are some overeating tips to make life a little easier when you’re eating at your dining room table or at your favorite restaurant.

1. When eating out, ask the waiter for a to-go container. Either have the waiter bring you a box or ask him to package half the meal in the box before bringing it to the table. Eat what’s left on the plate and save the rest for another meal.

2. Eat slowly. It takes around 20 minutes for the brain to get the signal that the stomach is full. If you eat slowly, you make sure there is enough time for this chemical process to happen and prevent overeating.

3. Use smaller plates. Research shows that size does matter – at least when it comes to plates.
