Are low-fat diets good for you? Well, the answer is pretty simple: No, low-fat diets are not necessarily good for men’s health.
Experts say you should be getting around 30 percent of your daily caloric intake from healthy fats, that is monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, mostly from vegetable sources like nuts and avocados. Your body actually needs fat to manufacture important hormones, build tissue and keep your body in balance. Diets that are too high on fat, protein or carbs can cause more problems than benefits.
So next time that you see the label “low-fat” don’t fall for that and look for the label “good fats.” Some great examples of good fats are omega-3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Omega-3s have been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, and CLA has been shown to support muscle-growth processes. Both substances can be found in Omega-3 Supplement Formula and Advanced CLA Supplement Formula, respectively.
