I was skiing this winter and found out that cold weather can help you burn more fat — and it’s not just me saying it. A Harvard report (Harvard Health Letter January 2010) highlights the fact that exposure to cold weather makes your body produce more brown fat cells. These are the “baby fat” cells in your body, which actually have a bigger thermogenic effect; in other words, they burn more calories and help to reduce other fat cells. So use the rest of winter to benefit from this effect!
