Healthy Snack Ideas for Men

healthyofficesnacksmen

So I’ve recently begun a new diet, and I’m having a hard time fighting off hunger between meals. As a result, I’ve found myself snacking on some things I should be avoiding – frozen yogurt, Starbucks latte and even donuts. After talking to some friends, I developed this list of healthy snacks to help me get through the day. This list is by no means finished – I’m open to any suggestions. In the meantime, I’m going to visit the grocery store and stock up on the following foods:

1. Greek yogurt: Pricey but worth the extra money. Packed with twice as much protein as regular yogurt, Greek yogurt also contains healthy probiotics (aka bacteria) to help promote digestive health. Greek yogurt has recently become pretty popular, so chances are good you can find it at your local grocery store.

2.  Almonds: Nuts, in general, are a good snack choice, but almonds take the cake. Filled with healthy fats and minerals, almonds are easy to store at your desk or in your bag if you’re on the road. The only caveat is that they are high in calories. Stick to a handful a day and you should be fine, though.

3. Berries: A handful of berries packs a big antioxidant punch. Because of their high-antioxidant content, berries like strawberries and blueberries are not only good for your waistline but also your skin. Antioxidants have been shown to fight off free radical damage, which can contribute to aging signs like wrinkles, fine lines and undereye bags.

4. Beef jerky: Opt for the low-sodium kind when possible possible. Beef jerky usually comes in a convenient container so you can take it anywhere. It’s high in protein and very filling, so if you’re trying to build muscle, it’s an ideal snack choice. Stay away from Slim Jim, though – that stuff is overly processed garbage.
